Gonubie, East London



The coastal town of Gonubie is situated at the mouth of the Gonube river. It is about 20km north-east of East London, only 8km off the main East London/Durban N2 highway. A fifteen minute drive will take you into the heart of East London. Gonubie has a popular riverside are as well as a beautiful sandy bay with a wooden boardwalk next to the dunes. In 2010/11 Gonubie Beach was awarded the prestigious Blue Flag beach award. The river serves as a great place for activities such as canoeing and kayaking.
